I loaded new firmware on the two IP Based KVM switches the company I work for has.  It was a great update from Belkin it made the switches browser interface work like I had hoped it when when I purchased them last year.  They are a fantastic tool for small companies who have the need to manage servers in several locations. Up until today I might have recommended something other than Belkin.  I had originally chosen them based on price and what seemed like a solid feature set.  One the thing to note is that they oddly require PS/2 keyboard and mouse connections.

So if you have servers in remote locations and have the need to have console control over them IP based KVM switches are the way to go.  Many companies make so do the research to find the one that will fit your organization the best.
